Ako Leadership – Terms & Conditions of Trade
1. Services
Ako Leadership provides mentoring, leadership development programmes, workshops, and advisory services.
All services are delivered in accordance with agreed scope, format, and duration.
2. Engagement & Agreement
By engaging services with Ako Leadership, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
Where applicable, a separate written agreement or proposal may outline specific details (e.g. scope, timeframe, deliverables). These terms apply in conjunction with that agreement.
3. Fees & Payment
- All fees are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
- Payment terms are:
- 1:1 mentoring: invoiced monthly in advance
- Programmes/workshops: as specified (typically upfront or staged payments)
- Payment is due within 7 days of invoice unless otherwise agreed.
- Late payments may result in:
- Suspension of services
- Additional charges where applicable
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
1:1 Sessions
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule a session
- Sessions cancelled within 24 hours may be charged in full
Programmes & Workshops
- Cancellation terms will be outlined at time of booking
- Programme fees are generally non-refundable once commenced
Ako Leadership reserves the right to reschedule sessions or programmes if necessary, with reasonable notice.
5. Client Commitment
The effectiveness of mentoring and leadership development depends on the client’s engagement.
Clients agree to:
- Attend scheduled sessions
- Actively participate in the process
- Take responsibility for their own decisions and actions
Ako Leadership does not guarantee specific outcomes or results.
6. Confidentiality
Ako Leadership is committed to maintaining confidentiality and will not disclose client information without consent, except where required by law.
For group programmes:
- Participants agree to respect the confidentiality of others within the group setting
Recording & Documentation
As part of delivering mentoring and leadership development services, Ako Leadership may maintain detailed notes or use secure digital tools to document key discussions, insights, and agreed actions.
These records are used to:
- Support continuity between sessions
- Ensure accuracy and quality of service delivery
By entering into this agreement, the client understands and consents to this process.
Any recording of sessions beyond standard documentation (e.g. audio recording) will be discussed and agreed with the client in advance.
All information is handled in accordance with Ako Leadership’s Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All materials, frameworks, resources, and content provided by Ako Leadership remain the intellectual property of Ako Leadership.
Clients may:
- Use materials for their own personal or organisational use
Clients may not:
- Share, reproduce, or distribute materials externally without permission
8. Professional Boundaries & Disclaimer
Ako Leadership provides mentoring and leadership development services.
Services do not include:
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Mental health or therapeutic services
Clients are responsible for:
- Decisions they make
- Actions taken following mentoring or advice
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ako Leadership is not liable for:
- Any loss, damage, or outcomes resulting from decisions made by the client
- Indirect or consequential loss
10. Travel & Expenses
Where services are delivered outside the local region:
- Travel and accommodation costs may be charged
- These will be agreed upon in advance
11. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate an engagement with reasonable notice.
- For ongoing services, 2 weeks’ notice is generally required
- Outstanding fees must be paid up to the termination date
Ako Leadership reserves the right to discontinue services where:
- There is non-payment
- Engagement is no longer appropriate or productive
12. Privacy
Ako Leadership collects and stores client information solely for the purpose of delivering services.
All information is handled in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Personal information will not be shared with third parties without consent.
13. Changes to Terms
Ako Leadership may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The most current version will apply to all new engagements.
14. Acceptance of Terms and Policies
By engaging with Ako Leadership, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, along with the relevant Ako Leadership policies available on our website.
These policies form part of our agreement and are designed to support a clear, respectful, and effective working relationship.
